Library/Admin Building
West Chester Friends School
New building in the heart of West Chester Friends School’s historic campus. The administration/library building is in close proximity to the 19th century Meetinghouse and Schoolhouse, and it responds through the use of a traditional palette of materials such as brick, stone, wood sash windows, and standing seam metal roofs. A new porch harkens to a similar porch on the rear of the Meetinghouse, and it provides a covered area for students to wait at dismissal. The library occupies the second floor, and is capped by a clearstory that brings overhead daylight into the reading area below. |
