Barn Renovation, Centreville, DE

Significant renovation of a 19th century bank barn in rural Delaware. The renovation included rehearsal and performance space for a classical chamber ensemble, as well as a recording studio, offices, a gallery, and complete restoration of the historic shell. Our approach to the renovation was to preserve the character and key elements of the existing structure, while inserting a series of modern interventions to house the new functions. The project was designed to rigorous acoustical standards, and necessitated rebuilding exterior walls and roofs to filter man-made and natural noise interference.
